Greenpois0n Jailbreak Released for Max OS X

Really good news for Mac OS X users. @Chronic dev team member @p0sixninja aka Joshua hill just tweeted not that long ago that the greenpois0n iOS 4.1 jailbreak has just been released for Mac OS X users. Greenpois0n will jailbreak the following devices on iOS 4.1 firmware, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G and iPad. The chronic dev team have been updating the greepois0n jailbreak alot to fix the bugs that people have been coming across. This release of GreenPois0n is based on Limera1n’s exploit. SHAtter exploit has been saved for the next-gen iOS devices. If for some greenpois0n doesnt work for you you can use the limera1n jailbreak by geohot that will jailbreak the same devices.

LimeSn0w Unlock by Geohot on its Way?

Just days after releasing his LimeRa1n jailbreak, is Geohot going to amaze us all over again with LimeSn0w, the first iPhone unlock for iOS 4.1? That’s at least what this image I received from an anonymous tipster suggests. It shows what seems to be an iPhone 3GS on T-Mobile with information about LimeSn0w being an unlock for basebands 02.10.04 and 05.15.01.

While we thought there wouldn’t be an unlock until iOS 4.2 comes out, this LimeSn0w rumor comes as a very good news, especially for those of you who accidentally updated to iOS 4.1 and cannot downgrade the baseband.

Tethering settings removed from iPad 4.2 Beta 3

When iOS 4.2 beta 2 for iPad was released we reported that tethering preferences were added to 3G iPads on certain carriers. This created speculation that Apple would be adding iPhone-like tethering to WiFi + 3G models of the iPad. Now that iPad 4.2 beta 3 has been released, we have discovered that Apple has removed the tethering settings. As you can see in the screenshot below, tethering options are no longer present under the ‘Cellular Data’ fields.
